Thank you to all our Guests, Visitors and Old Bromsgrovians that attended, it was a very successful evening and it was great that so many of you came and braved the cold....and that was just during dinner due to the heating not working!!

Thank you to all those that helped arrange and organise the evening, you know who you all are. I have created a link to an electronic copy of the Menu card on the tables, as requested, as it does explain the history of the School and Lodge so well. Thank you to David Cariss for his efforts with this and everything else he does for the Lodge.

I hope that you will join us again soon either at our next meeting or event.

Merry Christmas from the OBL

GENTLEMEN’S BOXING EVENING IN SUPPORT OF APPEAL 2011

W Bro Vic Southan is promoting his 35th Boxing night on

Tuesday 30th November 2010 at the

KINGFISHER COUNTRY CLUB

KIDDERMINSTER ROAD, WALL HEATH, WEST MIDLANDS DY6 0EN

In aid of Appeal 2011 (Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys)

The evening will commence with a three course dinner followed by 10 bouts of championship boxing, featuring many young boxers who hope to be selected for the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
Over many years, W Bro Southan has raised thousands of pounds for various charities through promoting boxing evenings but sadly this event will be his 35th and last, and he therefore wants it to be his most successful.

He is looking for sponsors at £25 per bout, programme advertising at £50 per advert and raffle prize donations.

Dress code is lounge suits or dinner jackets and the evening will begin
at 19.15 for 20.00.

Tickets are £35 per person.

If you have been to one of W Bro Vic’s boxing evenings before, then you will  know that this will be an event not to be missed, and if you haven’t, then  this will be your last opportunity!

Either way, please come and support W Bro Vic and make his last Boxing Night an evening to remember and a great fundraising event for Appeal 2011.
Get a group together from your Lodge or Chapter and book your tickets via
W Bro Southan on 0121 556 1311 or mobile 07961 022662

Similarly if you would like to support the evening as a sponsor, advertiser or provide a raffle prize, W Bro Vic would be pleased to hear from you.

JON BADGER IS RUNNING FOR THE ARMY BENEVOLENT FUND AGAIN

Latest Update: 3 hrs 6 mins & 57 secs

Dear All,

A few of you have been asking about who and how to donate to Jonathan Badger’s charity for this years London Marathon on Sunday the 25th of April.

So here ’s what and how!

Again he has decided to run for the Army Benevolent Fund (ABF) who give lifetime support for serving and retired Army personnel and their families.  Because of  current  operations it is anticipated that the requests for assistance will rise significantly in the coming years. It is the aim of The Soldiers’ Charity to increase fundraising to £14 million a year by 2015 to be sure that they can help all those in need of their help. Obviously  this charity very close to Jon’s heart.

You can read more about what they do at their website;

http://www.soldierscharity.org/

He’s been training hard this year helped by some chaps at work who have been pushing each other at lunch times, as these men do! We’re even now getting into sports gels and recovery drinks!

There are of course so many worthy causes especially this year, and not always the monies to go around, again especially this year. But if you would like to do so with however much you feel you can give.

It’s easy to donate just go to his just giving website on :

http://www.justgiving.com/Jonathan-Badger

and click on the ‘Donate Now’ and follow the instructions; remember to tick the tax payers circle if you are one.

Many Thanks.
